A Ghost Ship Sails Again!

Like a decrepit pirate vessel rising once more from its watery grave, so this blog lives once again! The younger version of me who would stubbornly cling to a sinking website with all its baggage for the sake of an ever-dwindling community is no longer (Twitter beat that mentality out of me). Some former me is the barnacle-laden skeleton still left clinging to the mast, thoughts like mind-tentacles flailing to grasp for a non-existent audience's attention. Spooky stuff, but I think I've played this ghost ship metaphor for all its worth, ey?

It's been a long while since the Livejournal days and almost everyone I knew from back then has flitted away onto the wider internet. But here I am, holding true to my own promise to running a blog of my own again (beyond my microblogging endeavours on social media over the past decade, that is). So I finally did it: bought a domain name, sorted an ethical hosting platform and somehow managed to slap it all together!

Not gonna lie, I was sore-tempted to title this first blog "Hello World!" or "What's A Blog?" just for the pure shits-and-giggles factor of old 'net tradition. But y'know, I didn't want to fully break my spirit on the first hurdle. I've most of the site basics set up so far, but realised I should probably have a bit of something here for if interested folk swing by (plus, a bit of void-screaming never hurt a soul, right?)
